Hi, I'm new here. My Grandfather, dead, was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite mason. What is that, what would it have taken to achieve, and how high (hard) could he have gone? Thanks

Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt was a 32nd degree Mason, and his VP Harry Truman was in the 33rd degree (-History Channel {History.com}) by invitation. The latter said that he was most proud about his Presidency of the Grand Lodge of Missouri (-Gary Kah? *). They presided over the extermination of Jews who arrived in ships during World War 2 and were turned away (-PBS-TV).
In 1931, Manly P. Hall's book "The Lost Keys of Freemasonry" was published by the Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company. It was acknowledged by at least 1 of the 50 Grand Lodges, according to John Ankerberg {www.jaSHOW.org} *. He says regarding adept Masons, ``The seething energies of Lucifer are in his hands, and before he may step onward and upward, he must prove his ability to properly apply energy" **. Dr. W.R. Martin also said that it's Luciferian in the upper ranks. I think that Stan. Monteith, M.D., ret., author of "The Brotherhood of Darkness," said that the number of degrees are in the hundreds. Albert Pike in "Morals & Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry," p. 321 (edition of 1966, originally pub. in 1871), identifies, apparently, a source of inspiration: ``Lucifer the Light-bearer! ... Lucifer, Son of the morning! Is it ~he~ who bears the ~Light~ [and whose brightness intolerable blinds those who are {i_g_n_o_r_a_n_t (?)} & selfish ***]? Doubt it not!" (-quoted by G.K., p. 123). Masons present this quote as proof against Pike's Satanism (-History Channel). One of them, Helena P. Blavatsky, teacher of women's co-Masonry in France (19th or 18th century) & founder of Theosophy, in "The Secret Doctrine" approvingly quotes Eliphas Levi's praise for Lucifer who created his throne, & led Mankind to independence, at the cost of eternal torment (p. 76, cited by John Steinbacker in "Senator Robert Francis Kennedy -- The Man, the Mysticism, the Murder" pub. in 1968 by Impact Publishers, L.A., pp. 29 - 31. It's about Sirhan, R.F.K.'s killer). Mr. Pike established a new Scottish Rite. According to Dr. Martin's pal Robert A. Morey [http://FaithDefenders.com], author of "The Truth About Masons," He established a Hindu-istic baptism in the name of Brahman, Vishnu & Shiva, in which a finger moves on the forehead along a triangle. The inductee got a triangle pendant. ~ ~ -° °- ¨c¨ ¨~¨ ______________________________ * -- According to Gary H. Kah {www.garyKAH.org}. ** -- Page 48, cited by Gary H. Kah in "En Route to Global Occupation," which Huntington House published in 1992, Chr'n Era (Box 53788, Lafayette, Louisiana, 70505), pp. 123 - '4. He also wrote "The Demonic Roots of Globalism". The prior sentence reads, ``When the Mason learns that the Key to the warrior on the block is the proper application of the dynamo of living power, he has learned the Mystery of his Craft." *** -- recalled from the History Channel.
