View Full Version : What is it about the BofM that scares the LDS so much?

I am forever being asked by the LDS to read and pray about the BofM.. Fine I have read it and when I do I feel just what I have felt since I left the LDS church.. That is is a novel, the creation of a 19th century author, Joseph Smith, along with the editorial ***istance of Oliver Cowdry.. There are some looming problem with it other than the over 3,000 times it has had to be changed to correct grammar, or correct the doctrine to more align with more modern beliefs.. The Lehi party are no longer the fore bearers of the American Indian. Today they are seen as being one of many peoples who were their ancestors. Why was that change made? Was it because science had determined that by enlarge the MtDNA denied their claims? Maybe it is because the Indian nations of the hemisphere objected to being call loathsome? The bigotry of the LDS church is still manifest in it's teaching that a skin of blackness is the sign of being a idle people, full of mischief and subtlety(2 Nephi 5:21-24)..

While the BofM Is called the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ (D&C 20:8-9) it conflicts with later "revelations" from the LDS god to their prophet Joseph Smith.. In Jacob 1:15 polygamy is called a wicked practice, in Jacob 2:23 it was called abominable before God.. But is the 132 section of the D&C David was said to have not sinned at all except in the matter of the death of Bathsheba's husband.. That is is not just allowed for a man to take many wives but actually expected and justified..

How about showing the changeableness of the LDS god? Did Nephi not confess that he knew that God did give a commandment to men expect He made a way for that commandment to be kept? And yet in the last day before the LDS were RUN out of Missouri the all knowing LDS god who had given a commandment that a temple be built in Far West Missouri released the LDS from seeing that commandment kept. And why? Not because the construction was a test of their faith but because of the action of mobs and militia in Missouri that threatened the lives of those building the temple.. The god of mormonism was weaker in his power than the "evil" men who were appointed as Governors of the state, and Generals of the Militia. So much for 1 Nephi 3:7!

It is clear that even in the days of Joseph Smith the BofM was no longer the primary doctrine of the LDS church and that doctrine came from him as their prophet and from no other source. The BofM is today nothing more than a mormon tract to get peoples attention and brings them into the maze of twisting turning and ever changing teachings that is mormonism.. IHS jim

Can anyone point out one major doctrine of mormonism that was given in the BofM? Anything.. Plural marriage, temple marriage, priesthood.. Oh there is baptism but not confirmation of their membership in the Church of Jesus Christ by laying on of hands. There are some reference to priesthood but not so clear as is found in the Bible in the Book of Hebrews.. So where are the plain and precious things of mormonism taught? In the D&C, PofPG and through the teachings of their prophets written in the standard works or not.. IHS jim

Certainly. The doctrine that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ is taught in Mosiah 3:17, Mosiah 16:13, Alma 38:9, and Helaman 5:9.

And what is your definition of mormon salvation?

maybe I should included a doctrine that isn't clearly stated in the Bible that is uniquely LDS.. Doctrines such as Plural marriage, temple marriage, priesthood.. Can you do it? IHS jim

Moving the goal posts.

Doctrines such as Plural marriage, temple marriage, priesthood.. Can you do it?
You would have to identify one or more such doctrines first (none of your examples are uniquely LDS).

The goal post hasn't been move, just give us the LDSinc. definition of (salvation)? I am sorry, but I call you out on this one!

Yes it is.. that means i agreed with you that the way I first wrote is is worng and yiou rightly showed mt statement to be wrong.. That's right I admit when I am wrong.. So I corrected my statement and made it the truth.. A truth I don't believe you can't show is wrong..

Great show me that they are held by the Christian Church and not just by cults.. Do any Christian churches teach Plural marriage, temple marriage? Do any churches Christian or not teach that priesthood is the power to act in the name of God exclusive to those that have not received LDS priesthood.. Please be my guest is showing the evidence that these doctrines are so widely believed among other churches. Good luck.. IHS jim

So now it doesn't have to be uniquely LDS, just non-Protestant?

Show me any Church that holds such things to be the truth other than the LDS church.. I already know they are in error.. IHS jim

Plural marriage has been around for thousands of years and has been practiced by Jews, Christians, and Muslims, so that's not unique to Mormonism. Hindus perform marriages in temples, so that's not unique to Mormonism. And Protestants believe in a priesthood, so that's not unique to Mormonism, either.

I really really really HATE LDSinc. TBMs who use (Obfuscation) in their lying, cheating, religious baiting the innocent.
Plural marriage as practiced by the lying, cheating religious *****monger Joseph Smith jr. Was not like Christians, Jews. At no time did the God of the Holy Bible put a sword to the heart of the believers and threaten to kill them if they didn't practice the mormon, and I repeat the mormon invented Plural marriage way to mormon godhood.
So there are many Liars here, and if they don't repent of their lying for the mormon god, then their souls are ****ed to Hell! Oh, is that alittle to hard hitting?

Seems, the LDS have a short memory or sure don't know anything about their history. JS even ****ed Emma if she didn't go along with polygamy. Wasn't that convenient for JS to force this disgusting lifestyle on his own wife by claiming God would **** her for going against it? What a guy. I'd have shot him while he slept.

I spit nails every time I hear a mormon try and white wash their polygamy past.
