The Mormons were the only demographic in American history that faced annihilation by decree of the federal government.

Not even indigenous tribes were ever so lucky. But the Mormons survived and they have an exciting story to tell. The problem is that no Christian with even a modicum of knowledge in scripture can believe that they are anything but a severely heretical group.

But ,now what? what can anyone do about it ? nothing.

No one says you have to become a Mormon but why harp on them continuously?

It doesn't bother them but has a terrible effect on the Christian community because it can easily turn into hatred for those that on balance have contributed to the overall benefit of the american community.

So why do it? Is it just to feed an overactive neurosis or what.

They have a legal right to be Mormons . And they don't threaten anyone.

[QUOTE=Christodoulos;159983]The Mormons were the only demographic in American history that faced annihilation by decree of the federal government.

For good reason don't you think?
On March 11, 1844, Joseph Smith established a secret organization called the Council of Fifty, in Nauvoo, Illinois, which was designed to carry out his plans for political empire. This theocratic-political kingdom or body of men met a number of times in Nauvoo before Smith’s death on June 27, 1844.3 The goal of this theocracy was world government.4 They further believed they would govern and rule the earth during the millennial reign of Christ.5
On April 11, 1844, the Council of Fifty installed Joseph Smith as king on earth, then two days later, “He [Smith] prophecied the entire overthrow of this nation in a few years.”6 This theocratic-political body believed they were receiving God's “law” for the whole earth. On January 1, 1845, William Clayton summarized the goals and accomplishments of this council during 1844:

.
It still goes on to this very day too!

We dont dare turn our backs on the Mormons.
Just a few years ago the top story in the news was that the Goverment had to come cracking down hard on Mormons who were up to the old "sex with little girls" thing again.
If I remember the story correctly, the Mormon leadership in that place is in jail right now, for rape of little girls.
I do remember the news reporters were taken into the very rooms where the young girls were taken...Im not sure if this was in the Temple they had there or not? (I will search to learn if it was)

But the point is that it's not just "back in the day" when the Goverment had to keep in eye out for the things the Mormons are well-known for, its today too!

I'm sure if we left them alone for too long the Mormons would try to set up their own little country....declare American law 'void" and start offering younger and younger little girls for the pleasure of the leadership.

Christodoulos stated "and in 1492 columbus discovered america . ancient history. "

Actually, that is not true, Christodoulos. The jews did in wooden boats they built long before (600BC) Columbus. Just read 2 Nephi about these "historical" people.

(and just because you say its ancient history you condone it or ?)

That should keep them quiet for a while.
