Personally?.....I think it's the handshake part of cults like the Mormons that are about the most silly of things....
Even more silly than the secret undies the Mormons wear.

Do YOU treat the rosary of the roman catholics as something to be 'respected' just because millions of people view it as sacred? How about the marrying of old men to children in your own mormon 'fundamentalist' groups? Do YOU treat those things 'respectfully?'

I don't know alan so I won't try to speak for him. I MYSELF have many mormon friends, and as PEOPLE I respect them a great deal. A couple of VERY GOOD school teachers I know are mormon. A mormon bishop used to be one of my best friends (he died). My neighbors used to be mormons (they left the mormon religion, they moved, we moved, they aren't my next-door neighbors any more)
