Mormons love to portray a lie - and that lie is that Joseph Smith and Emma were a happy couple. The opposite is true. Poor Emma was proud, but she was also humiliated by the fact that her husband found other women more attractive than her. All the boloney about Joe receiving a "convenient" revelation giving him permission to take as many "virgins" as he desired as plural wives (mistresses) is just that, boloney. Come on, grow up people - the con artist, Joe Smith, not only pretended to be a prophet (and is record of prophecy was abysmal), but used his charisma and smarts to convince the gullible that his "god" (and evolving god), spoke to him on a near daily basis. However, he apparently did speak to Emma - who even on her death bed denied that Joe had other wives. Emma Smith Lied - because we all know that she kicked Fanny Alger out of her home in Kirtland (off to have the baby of Joe Smith elsewhere).
