Can you just imagine, folks, if some Christian evangelist said the following:

"I combat the errors of the ages;...I solve mathemtatical problems of universities, with truth--diamond truth; and God is my right hand man." [1843]

"God made Aaron to be the mouth piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be a god to you in His stead." [1844]

"I have more to boast of than ever any man had...I boast that no man ever did such a work as I." [1844] (All taken from History of the Church, Vol. 6)

These are the words of a mentally disturbed man. Nobody would say the above unless they were delusional or fully demon possessed. Yet, these are the words of none other than JOSEPH SMITH, JR., founder of Mormonism.

Did Joseph Smith suffer from this mental disorder:

"Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder, characterized by exaggerated feelings of self-importance, an excessive need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others." (Wikipedia)

I'd say the chances are pretty good that he did. Just one example: Smith went to Heber Kimball and told him he wanted Heber's wife, Vilate, as a plural wife. Heber was crushed - but being a "true believer," finally came around and told Joe he could, indeed, have Vilate if that was the Lord's will. Then Joe laughed, and said, it was only a test, that it was Helen, his fourteen year old daughter, that God had really given him as a wife in polygamy.

Here is that story and others: http://www.exmormon.org/mormon/mormon262.htm

The ravings of a lunatic? Or the calculated effort to hurt and diminish the humanity of Heber Kimball by a psychopathic narcissist who had no feelings for others, but cared only to fulfill his own diabolical lusts?

God made Aaron to be the mouth piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be a god to you in His stead

Wrong....the actual quote reads

"God made Aaron to be the mouth piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be god to you in His stead"

Do you see the difference? To quote him as saying God would make him a god changes the entire meaning of the sentence. All he was saying was he would be God's mouthpiece like Aaron was. Period.

And that whole thing about the boasting was a purposeful exaggeration. He was following Paul's lead after reading 2 Corinthians 11, and was speaking about those against the church...just like Paul did, basically showing an example of how ridiculous over the top statements are (like those being made by his enemies) and that he could "boast" too, but it does little good. Kinda like these forums. Plus it was in no way an exact quote anyway, since he gave this speech a month before he died and was obviously unavailable to supervise the scribes to ensure it was complete and accurate. It was basically somebody's paraphrasing what he said.

Verified statements made by Joseph Smith

"I will try to be contented with my lot, knowing that God is my friend. In him I shall find comfort. I have given my life into his hands. I am prepared to go at his call. I desire to be with Christ. I count not my life dear to me [except] to do his will."

"I do not think there have been many good men on the earth since the days of Adam; but there was one good man and his name was Jesus. Many persons think a prophet must be a great deal better than anybody else....I do not want you to think that I am very righteous, for I am not."

Would you consider his other statements as well? Most ***uredly not.

With that, I'm going to go ahead and leave you to your postings Catherine, I know how bored you must be during your suspension (however long those last) But you'll have to just amuse yourself. This is pretty pointless. I point out the errors, you insult me... It's pointless. You may continue to insult my faith and beliefs (as well as my integrity & intelligence) as much as you want, I'm not upset by it, it really means nothing. Carry on.

To compare the cheating adulterer and liar, Joe Smith, with any Bible character is evil, unless, of course, you want to compare him with Ahab or Judas. Smith was a evil deceiver, and I feel sorry for those who follow, and then justify, Smith and his acts.
