I have a question for the Mormons on this forum. Does the Mormon Church recognize The Book of Enoch as Legit.

I grew up Protestant, but I'm starting to think that 1 Enoch is Legit. I could be wrong but I think 1 Enoch explains in detail what happened in Genesis 6.

Thanks in advance.

From what I've been able to learn, we believe that there was a Book of Enoch that is legit (D&C 107:57 (https://www.lds.org/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/107.57?lang=eng#56)), and that some of it may have survived in 1 Enoch, but 1 Enoch is not part of our canon of scripture.

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) does not consider 1 Enoch to be part of its standard canon, though it believes that the original Book of Enoch was an inspired book.[31] The Book of Moses, found within the scriptural canon of the LDS Church, has several similarities to 1 Enoch,[32] including names[33] that have been found in some versions of 1 Enoch, and is believed by the LDS Church to contain extracts from "the ministry, teachings, and visions of Enoch".[34][35][36]"

I also just discovered that Hugh Nibley wrote a series of articles in the Ensign beginning in October 1975 ***led "A Strange Thing in the Land: The Return of the Book of Enoch." I haven't read these articles, but you might be interested in them.
