I believe that this prediction of this 2012 catastrophe is demonic from the get go. There is nothing in the bible to indicate this. It may happen however satan would like to make people believe that all the ones missing was NOT taken in the rapture.

I watched the documentary.

The documentary is oriented on the ideology of the New Age movement. Very speculative. Reputed and credible scholars are not showed in this video. Only some sensationalism with some pseudo-science. I would not recommend it. No objectivity, they are trying to sell you the New Age philosophy. And some of their books.

I agree, it is filled with new agey iedeology, BUT it is a fact that the mayan calandar ends, and with that it is stated that we will be facing "the end of the world" as we know it..it is most certainly NOT apocolyptic and this world will not be coming to an end..there is already a shift in consciousness occuring, that meaning, that many are now focusing on solutions and wanting to put an end to wars etc..imoho.

i also think you have to use alot of discerment when it comes to what's out in the internet these days.. it's very easy to be lead down a path of untruth as opposed to getting the real/full picture...so that leaves much room for misinterpretaion..again imoho.

There is a great deal of mystery that surrounds it and I think that lends to speculation and makes for great personal opinions and fantasies. It would be fantastic if someone could build a time machine and go back to the Mayan civilization when it was prosperous and active and follow it through to it's demise and then of course come back to the present and tell us the exact story of it all. That is unrealistic at this point in time though and is only one of my personal fantasies. hehe

I agree, the subject is very intriguing indeed..a time machine would be perfect, one of my personal fantasies as well! :D

I beleive there are many omens afoot imo, but I truly think that these are metaphors as such..like take the "apocolypse"..i think metaphorically speaking we would see the fall of outworn and abused "masculine" energies which encompass all the doings done from a point of extreme power mongering acts on this earth. For me it represents 'things' returning to a state of balance in this world..and for that to happen, there will be a catalyst of events of sorts, which can be seen as an increase in riots, intensity of war situations, economic instability etc....and if you go back in history, balance and peace always follows once old systems have collapsed..

TrinityI think there are "omens" in every cultural belief system. The jews have the Torah speaking of omens of a coming messiah, Christianity has their omens of the anti-Christ, native american beliefs have their omens about changes in surroundings and nature connected to the great spirit...

Heck, I even have my own little personal "omens" haha.

From what I have learned up to this point regarding the Mayan culture and it's calandar, the "end of the calandar" does not so much represent an apocolypse or world distruction like so many people think but rather respresents the coming of the new age, an age of change in the minds and hearts of man, a more equality of mankind type age. I don't think it is an accident that all this revolves around astrology. What I do find extremely fasincating is that all of the most evanced cultures in ancient history had belief systems revolving around astrology and our modern world with all its technology and "knowing" is still trying to figure out how those ancient cultures built what they built and accomplished what they accomplished.

With all the crises that we are involved in, it is not impossible to see a form of Apocalypse to arise. However, we are the only responsible for this chaotic situation.

Global warming crisis.
Energy crisis.
Water crisis.
Food crisis.
Economic crisis.
Pandemic diseases risks for multiple crises.
The weapons of mass destruction.
The terrorists acts and their trillions of dollars in cost for assuring safety.

All these crises are factors for multiple wars or even a a third global war.

2012 will be the apocalypse for...the incandescent bulb (http://www.usnews.com/money/business-economy/articles/2007/12/19/faq-the-end-of-the-light-bulb-as-we-know-it.html) Aside from that I think that they just ran out of space on the slab that they carved it in. Now if their calendar had been carved say a few hundred years prior to their decimation and showed that their society would be vanquished that would be interesting and interesting as well would the need to put out a prophetic calendar well beyond their civilization.

to me, global warming is a myth

the modern mayans have already stated that 2012 was not a year for catastrophe, but the end of a cycle or something like that. i have only heard news reports and haven't investigated it yet.
