Default While todays LDS insist that blacks weren't banned from the priesthood or the temple

While today's LDS insist that blacks weren't banned from the priesthood or the temple in the days of Joseph Smith only one black name is named in their history. The man Elijah Abel was ordained by Smith.. The question is was this a special dispensation for Mr Abel since his is the only name used as the LDS point with pride that Smith didn't hold to the ban of priesthood ascribe to all who were of the linage of Ham? The LDS teach that is was Young in 1852 that reestablished the ban on Black and the priesthood, but Elijah Abel's sons in total disobedience to that decision of the "prophet" were ordained in 1900 and 1935. The only way I see this as possible is because of the patriarchal blessing by Church Patriarch Joseph Smith, Sr. saying that: "Thou has been ordained an Elder. … Thou shalt be made equal to thy brethren, and thy soul shall be white in eternity and thy robes glittering: thou shalt receive these blessings because of the covenants of thy father." Smith saw Elijah Abel as a white man.. That apparently was pick up on and extended to his sons.. IHS jim
