    Default Length of days.

If we believe that the Genesis account is true then we agree that Adam was created on day six. he lived through day six, and day seven,
and died when he was 930 years old. If each day were a million years, then something is wrong. Either the scripture is wrong
about Adamís age or the idea of each day of creation being long periods of time is wrong. Which is it?

"though ....day seven"?.....thats not in the Bible.

Lets just see what is actually in the Bible.

This is what we see or do not see in the text as written in back and white:
Humans are created sometime during the 6th day according to the story.

    That's about it...

This also marks the ending of God's creative work and thus could be said to be the start of the 7th day.....

But we also know that the 7th day has no ending in the Genesis story unlike all the other 6 days that have very sharp, clear endings.

So the 7th day has yet to end according to the genesis story.
This shows us that the length of the Genesis so-called 'day"is totally unknown....

thus when we look to the life of Adam all we can find support of is that Adam was created during the 6th day...and dies later during the remaining part of the 6th day or into the (as yet un-ended) 7thday...(It's not all that clear from only the text if Adam dies during the 6th or into the 7th day)

thats really all we can prove with the story...the rest is just a guess.

What's actually in the bible shows the end of day 6 at the close of chapter 1. Now whether a person believes in a
literal 24 hour day or a million year day, the bible still records the end of the 6th day. We then see day 7 and
a record of Adam and his genealogy ending with the fact that he lived 930 years. Now unless you are going
to twist and add to the scripture to try and say that Adam lived in the last 930 years of a very long day 6, you
have to conclude that the days of creation were not long periods of time but 24 hour days.

    Im not adding anything.
(in fact, I think Im the only one not needing to add things to the text )

Im just pointing out that you cant find any ending yet to the 7th day.

There is no ending to the 7th Day in the genesis story.

Just as there is no ending to the 7th Day in any book of the Old testiment

and Just as there is no ending to the 7th Day in all of the whole Bible, from Genesis to revelation!!!!!!

All we are are sure of is Adam died at some time.

During the 6th day?...we dont know,
or lived to see the start of the 7th?...perhaps....

Thats what the Bible shows us...and so that is all i teach here too.

If there is no ending to the 7th day yet in the scripture I dont feel the need to force an ending just to make it agree with what I would have wanted the Bible to say.

I dont add to the text.
    I dont need to.

My teachings come from the Bible and therefore I dont need to add to the story anything to make it twist into something else it does not say.

So this means that it really does not matter how many years Adam lived (one day is as a thousand years etc)....the point is that we are not told if he died during the 6th day,or lived to see the start of the 7th?

    We dont know....
The Bible does not tell us.

All we do know for sure is that the 7th Day has no ending in the Bible, as of yet.

and we know we cant slap-on an ending to the 7th day just to make it work with our systems....

You call it that only because you are frustrated by the fact that Im right, there is no ending to the 7th day in the whole Bible...

actually, you are not right. you are reading into scripture something that is not there. The Bible does not mention that Adam and Eve ever went to the bathroom does that mean they did not have to perform that biological function.

Just because God does not say something does not mean it did not happen

But in this case, God does tell us something very clearly....and thats my point!

6 times in a row God listed the ending of the creation day.

The ending is not just tacked on like its just an accident, rather its clearly an important part of the story.

No one can claim that a day for such did not end yet for you can point to the very verse where it tells us clearly that the day ended.,

The story of Genesis makes it impossible to miss the fact that the writer was pointing out the very clear endings to the first 6 days.

Then we come to the 7th day.
The 7th day has no listed ending.

Nor at any place in the whole Genesis story from end to end does the Bible say that the 7th day had ended yet, whereas the Bible makes a very big point at teachings that the first 6 days did have an ending, and the ending is carefully listed so we cant miss it, nor can we miss the fact that there is no listed ending to the 7th day.

The conclusion we can draw from this is clear....the 7th day has yet to end.
