Default All Mormons have really are the words of Joseph Smith

The sad thing is that the bottom line of Mormonism is Joseph Smith. With his integrity, with his life, the whole cult stands or falls. Mormonism teaches that the blood of Joseph Smith was needed to restore the New Covenant (Ensign article, Js. Smith among the Prophets, Millet). Since Joseph Smith is the foundation of Mormonism, for without him there would be no LDS, it is imperative to take a close look at the man on whom the Mormons stake their salvation.

Now Mormons may object and say, "well you have your Luthers, your Calvins, your Wesleys." The difference is, no Christian stakes their salvation on those men. Mormon on the other hand, Mormons have set up the words of Joseph Smith as the benchmark of truth. They have placed their faith in the words of Smith - forget the other Mormon so-called prophets, they never prophesied and they pale in significance in the Mormon pantheon when compared to Smith. For all practical purposes, Smith's words supersede the words of all other men - and even supersede those of the Bible. He is the "ground and pillar" of Mormonism, for without Smith - even Young said this - there would be no salvation (in the Celestial Kingdom as Mormons call it).

Truth has a way of exposing lies. And researchers today have discovered a very simple fact - Joseph Smith was a LIAR. These series of videos touch upon those facts:

    and

In this thread we will continue to examine Smith's integrity. Then Mormons and others will have to decide for themselves whether he is a man worth following - and whether one's eternal salvation depends on believing him.

You do realize that it is not the "words of Joseph Smith" right? They are God's words. That's like saying the salvation of the children of Israel depended solely upon Moses and his words. They weren't HIS words, and they're not Joseph Smith's. Now Joseph Smith had his own words sure, but as far as it pertains to the gospel of Jesus Christ as set forth through the Plan of Salvation by God The Eternal Father, those words are God's. And if God wants to restore and clarify doctrine, He can "supersede" anything He wants. I'm certainly not going to say He can't.

Don't be so naive, Mickey. They are "God's" words based on the words of Joe Smith, a known liar. Is the Quran also God's words based on the word of Mohammed?

But what you contended Catherine, was that we follow JOSEPH SMITH's words and hold him in higher regard than God. This is not true but it is what your entire OP is stating. I am addressing and correcting that.

How do you know that when Joseph Smith told you that his writings and the BoM are God's Word that they are? Jesus died and rose again to prove his authenticity as the Messiah. Joseph Smith died in a shoot out in Carthage, lived a licentious lifestyle, and gained power, money and sex as a result of his "profit" hood.

You're quantifying faith by what can be "proven", like an atheist.

Tell me, how do you know The Bible....the book, published on paper by men who never witnessed one single event that transpired in it, is true? And then...how do you know it's the word of God?

btw....Jesus Christ died a horrifying and humilating death at the hands of people who hated Him because of the things He said and did (sounds familiar)..He rose again because He's The Son of God...Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. No prophet has been resurrected to "prove" their authenticity.

Yes, you're right. The "spirit" of Joey Smith lives on in the abominable "child bride" practice of the Fundie Mormon groups!
