Default Joe's love letter to Sarah Witney and the cover-up marriage

Sarah Whitney was one of the victims of Joe Smith. She became a plural wife of Smith, and this insightful link will tell you how Joe wanted her to sneak over to where he was staying for a "visit," since Emma wasn't around. Furthermore, nine months after her plural marriage to Joey, Joe allowed her to be married to another man to cover up the fact she was his plural wife. That's polyandry! I love the part of the letter where Joey says that he thinks Emma won't be around! This nuttiness is the stuff cults are made of:

    https://user.xmission.com/~research/family/strange.htm

And, of course, no Mormon will acknowledge that Smith was a liar and a lech.
Oath formerly taken by Mormons promising not to reveal secret Mormon temple rituals: "Should we do so, we agree to have our breasts cut open and our hearts and vitals torn from our bodies and given to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field."

This is one of the funnier claims since this letter was to Sarah's PARENTS. Have you even read the letter? Didn't think so lol

So, what? Joe also got Helen Mar Kimball's parents to go along with his lustful desires for their fourteen year old daughter. Don't forget, Mormons believed and still do, that Joey spoke for God.

The funniest part of the letter is that he tells Sarah to burn the letter (which she obviously didn't do). What kind of cheat was this guy?

Apologette, I believe we could call you the editor to the National Inquirer on Mormonism. Always out to find little juicy, tid-bits all over the Internet (who cares if they are true--as sensationalism sales!)
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon)--Luk 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

So, you see folks - even if you have a copy of Joey's letter in his own handwriting, the Mormons stick their heads in the sand and say, "it can't be."

If you would research anything, at all, you would know how dangerous things were for Joseph around this time. Actual life and death dangerous, so it was kind of important to his safety and those around him to keep his comings and goings (of any kind) private. Hence when he mentions "safty" in the letter, it's a real safety...not a "jealous wife getting upset" safety. But you don't. You just accept everything at face value if it aligns with your opinions.

I'm not saying he didn't write the letter, lol.... but it's obviously NOT a love letter. Unless you're saying he was writing love love letters to Sarah's parents because that's who it's addressed to as well. Is that what you're saying? Please, enlighten us.

These Mormons have got to be some of the most gullible and credulous people on earth. They see Joey Smith arrange a clandestine meeting with one of his plurals; warn his gal about avoiding Emma, and telling Sarah to burn the letter - but, hey, these things are all normal according to these true believers.

I've always declared that Joe Smith, the Mormon profit, could have slain fifty teen age girls with an ax, and the Mormons would find some "legitimate" excuse for it - maybe even put out an essay!

Those reading, ask yourself this--are Mormons gullible?

Here is a PEW survey to see who knows about religious history: http://www.pewforum.org/2010/09/28/u...wledge-survey/

As you will see: Mormons score higher than Protestant.

Actually the gullibility comes from those who would think a man with the stresses that Joseph Smith had, the responsibilities of the church and who was currently hiding out in fear for his life would be setting up "romantic trysts".

No it's not normal behavior, but was his life at the time "normal"? You are funny lol

The common myth is that CULTS only feed on people that dont know any better....people that are not highly educated...people that trust too easy, but the reality if the situation is that throughout history the people that get sucked the most easy into CULTS (like the Mormon church) are among the most highly educated.

This is the same for all the CULTS.....

This is because you have to understand the mindset of people that join a CULT.....
Cult members are the type of people that believe that there is more to learn, they want to believe there are "secret" teachings that they can gain access to by their own hard work and initiative.

CULT members are types of people that think that their god has hidden some key things from people, and only allows a select few to learn His secret teachings, and then only after they p*** a few tests first.

Many of the ways the CULT has of growing is to support this idea that their members seem to want to be true being that they can and must 'earn" some type of credit with god and their church to gain the right to learn the secret teachings.

Once they have learned the secret teachings...(and oh yes, the CULT will develop many secret teachings to go along with this )they will feel they have a 'leg-up"on the rest of the world's religions, and are in a better position with their Lord than other people.

Thus, it is the seeking of this higher position with God that drives a lot of the 'works" that the members of a CULT will point to as being required and pleasing to their god.

we also can understand the knee-**** rejection the members of a CULT will have to Christians who teach that salvation is free...and without any required works.
For that goes against the whole idea that the CULT is built on....(that works are required to gain access to god's secret teachings and understanding)

Exactly, Alan. The Gnostics taught that secret knowledge was necessary for salvation Gnostic style, and the Mormons have inherited that mantle as well. I've seen the Mormons claim that Acts 1:3 proves Jesus imparted secret knowledge (Gnosis) to the apostles before He ascended, during the time between His resurrection and ascension. How credulous can people be not to see that ANY cult can claim that that "secret knowledge" applied to them:

    1. Jesus told the apostles that Sun Myung Moon would come in the twentieth century and complete Jesus' failed mission.

    3. A comet named Kohoutec would p*** the earth and carry off faithful followers.

4 The man, Charles Taze Russell would gather the "spirit anointed" into the "ark" of the Watchtower Society.

    5. The true "Lamb of God" would show up in Waco, Texas.

This kind of nutty speculation based on what is "not written," rather than what is recorded for us in God's Word, is simply a Satanic attempt to foist upon men the teachings of false profits who are sent out by the Devil to deceive and destroy the work of God.

And yet Mormons spend so much time sharing the gospel and teaching it to others.

If you believe we are a cult--look at the way we live. We thrive, we enjoy life, our families are loving and faithful.

When Christ came, the Pharisees (Jewish leaders) tried to convince people that he was wrong, wicked, horrible, etc. They even put him to death. Yet, Christ taught this lesson to those who tried to make good look bad:

Mat 13:15 "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

Instead of believing what nay-sayers tell them, people should look to their own experiences with Mormons.

Mormons don't share the Gospel of Jesus Christ; they share the Gospel of Joe Smith and Mormon works, which will save nobody. And why do they do that - to recruit more people into the cult, force them to turn over their money to the money-bloated Mormon cult and to become enslaved to the works system the cult perpetuates.

    very true...

One of the marks of a CULT is the idea that if you join the CULT they will teach you some type of super secret....
The Mormons even got a secret handshake!
