Acts 5:32---King James Version (KJV)
32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
It seems they obey God--and work righteousness. How does that fit a faith alone theology?
Since there is none righteous, not even one (Romans 3:10) no one can receive the Holy Spirit.. Since we all have gone astray; and turn to our own way (Isaiah 52:6) we have miss having God in us at all haven't we.. This isn't a few of us. Not even most. This is all of us.. So what hope do we have of receiving the Holy Spirit?
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
This is how we can be seen by God as obedient and work righteousness.. Because Jesus is a worker of righteousness, because Jesus is obedient we that are His though faith have that same level of perfection.. You can call for us to be obedient all day and all night and at the end of your voice we can tell you that in Jesus we (Christians) are righteous because Jesus has been righteous for us and given us His righteousness.
