What is the biblical definition of faith?

Galatians 3:6King James Version (KJV)
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Faith is a gift and how did Abraham believe God without it being revealed? I think faith is more earnest of the spirit cooperating and coming alongside of an individual whereby we don't grieve the spirit. If our spirits died in Adam then this is remarkable because it points to the first signs of spiritual life in a person.
Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
Spiritual life begins in the spirit and we aren't made perfect by the flesh because this is a rhetorical question so no amount of works will save you because the wages of sin are death so if any amount of works could save us then we would never die physically because we would in theory be able to earn our way out of physical death but this is not to be confused with the period of time in Revelation where God takes death away for a time during the tribulation period.
Romans 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Faith is cooperation with God in the spirit whereby God brings an individual alive enough to choose whether we believe because we love God or whether we don't enter into life because we love darkness and don't want to be reproved by the light.
Hebrews 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
