Before the resurrection this is located away from the presence of God because their sins have not of paid for yet by Christ. After the resurrection their sins would be paid for and then they could enter the presence of God. Today when a believer dies his spirit goes immediately into the presence of God. For the unbeliever this is not the case.

The atonement is timeless. The atonement is retroactive. The atonement is proactive.
