Sounds like this criticism is based on subjective experience, not the Word.It doesn't take a scholar to see that what is regularly practiced in many churches that is called "speaking in tongues" does not measure up to the description of this gift in the NT.
Neither is Trinity a Biblical term, so this argument is moot. The fact of the matter is this - tongues are clearly prayer (1 Cor. 14).At best, one single scripture (which is taken out of context) and made to fit this experience (and called a "prayer language" which is not a Biblical term), is used to support that practice.
I am 100 per cent for Scriptures. This is at best. At worst, and what we actually see in many churches, is all kinds of violations of scriptural instruction in its usage. It doesn't take a mature Christian to discern that there is something seriously wrong with this picture.
Are you willing to honestly consider what I am saying here, and to test it with the scriptures? If not, then any further suggestion I make, or testimony I give, will not be effective for you.
Respectfully
